About CompressImage

CompressImage is a browser tool. You drop a file, it shrinks on your computer, you download the result. There is no account and no photo library on a server.

The encoder runs in a Web Worker on your device. WASM codecs load from this same site. That is why a 20MB HEIC does not hit someone else’s upload cap, and why we can offer any kilobyte limit without a quota.

Smart mode is the default for everyday photos. Target size is the reason the site exists: type 200KB or 1.4MB and stay at or under that number. If the file cannot fit, the page says so.
